Laggan Community Hall

See below the new 2023 scale of charges for hiring the hall and overnight accommodation.

 

 

The original village hall was built in the 1930's, and the current hall was built on the site of the old one and it was opened in July 1985. It was built at a cost in excess of £110,000. Funding for this was sought from the Highland and Islands Development Board (HIDB), the District Council and an interest free loan from a local estate (which was repaid within two years of the hall opening). Almost £20,000 was also raised locally through a variety of fund raising events and Donations.


The Hall Committee oversee the management and use of the hall on a day to day basis. It also runs various fund-raising functions and has a contingency fund which it draws on for the maintenance of the hall and in case of emergencies. The Hall is well used by a variety of local groups. It is also available for hire and provides basic accommodation for outside groups, provided there are no local bookings.


Scale of Charges 

Use of meeting room: £10.00 per hour; Use of main hall and kitchen; £15.00 per hour

Dances  - £150.00
Sales     -  £150.00
Parties  -  £150.00

Accommodation: £15 per person per night.

Other Hire Charges: 

Large Table £10; Small Table £5; Chairs £2; Crockery (cup, saucer, plate) £1.
BBQ £40 per day; Tea Urn/Boiler £10.
