Essential carriageway coring investigations will be carried out between 24 March 2025 and 10 April 2025 in three phases between 22:00 and 06:00.

The works are being carried out by BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, to carry out investigations of the carriageway. All investigation works will be completed by 06:00 on Friday 11 April

2025.

During the above-mentioned work periods, to protect the workforce there will be traffic management setups in place in the form of road closure, amnesty periods will be available for traffic to be escorted through the work area. This is due to the restricted road widths available on site.

Phase 1 and Phase 2

Due to the nature of the works and restricted road widths, it will be necessary to close the A86 trunk road in both directions each night of phase 1 & 2 as per above programme. This is to ensure the safety of our workforce and members of the public, which is of paramount importance. The road will be closed at night between 10pm to 6am, due to no available diversion route, planned amnesty periods will be in place where work on site will be temporarily suspended and vehicles will then be escorted through site, which will run at the following times: 11pm, 12am, 1am, 3am, 4am & 5am.

Phase 3

Due to the nature of the works and restricted road widths, it will be necessary to close the A86 trunk road in both directions each night of phase 3 as per above programme. This is to ensure the safety of our workforce and members of the public, which is of paramount importance. The road will be closed at night between 10pm to 6am, planned amnesty periods will be in place where work on site will be temporarily suspended and vehicles will then be escorted through site, which will run at the following times: 11pm, 12am, 1am, 3am, 4am & 5am.
